Why I'm Running for School Board
I'm running for SD61 School Board to put our students first. Our schools should be a reflection of the change we want to see in our community, and our School Trustees should reflect the community they're elected to serve. We need new Trustees who aren't afraid to put students' interests first, restore good governance to our District, and make sure SD61 is a safe and welcoming place for everyone.
Public Education is the cornerstone of our society. It is part of what binds us all together regardless of background, ethnicity, sexuality, gender identity or beliefs. What happens in our schools becomes woven into the fabric of our community. Our School District serves as the caretaker of this sacred institution, charged with giving our students the best opportunities possible to prepare them for entering adulthood.
Our current School Board is closer to retirement than being back in school, and over the last four years we have seen the stark effect that has had on both the Board's actions and decisions.

I am running for SD61 School Board to put students back on the agenda, restore good governance to our district, and to make our schools a safe and welcoming place for everyone. I hope I can count on your support and your vote on October 15th.
